I have to admit, it tilts farther than I was expecting, even after seeing pictures.

On my trip to Italy we stopped in Pisa. Naturally, we went to the little fenced-in area, Pisa’s Cathedral Square, that holds the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The Leaning Tower is the bell tower to the city’s main cathedral. I have to admit, it tilts farther than I was expecting, even after seeing pictures.

We stopped in Pisa on our way to the cruise ship that was going to take us to Barcelona. We admired the tower – although we didn’t get to go inside because we didn’t have time. The line to go up was 2 hours long, so we got lunch in a little restaurant just off the square. As we were finishing eating, a man came into the patio area where we were eating and starting singing old-timey Italian music and serenading the restaurateurs. It was perfect.

Before we left we went into the Cathedral to hear the choir sing in the dome. The sound inside is amazing. The choir sang every 30 minutes for tourists, and although it’s not one of the more talked about features of Pisa, I would definitely recommend hearing them.
